HERKIMER, N.Y. — The Poland Tornadoes won once and lost once Thursday as the 13th annual NYSSCOGS Softball Festival got under way at Mudville with the Kristen Haver Memorial Tournament.The Tornadoes were tied midway through their first game but were eventually beaten 6-5 by Vernon-Verona-Sherrill. They came back with a 6-1 win over Canastota in their second game.Hamilton was the tournament’s other varsity participant.
