HERKIMER — The Herkimer Mini Park at the corner of Smith and William streets got its start when Anthony Baggetta and his wife, Ruth, were looking for a way to get their neighbors together.“We’d see all these senior citizens just sitting on their front porches,” Baggetta recalled. “We wanted to get them to get off their porches.”That was the start of the Herkimer Mini Park, which will mark the 39th anniversary of its dedication on July 12.
