SARANAC LAKE — A new study finds the populations of some bird species are declining in lowland wetlands in the Adirondacks.Data collected from 2007 to 2011 on the boreal chickadee, olive-sided flycatcher and rusty blackbird “showed high extinction probabilities in Adirondack wetlands,” according to a Wildlife Conservation Society researcher’s findings, recently published in the journal Northeastern Naturalist.
