HERKIMER — The Herkimer village board presented a $6.6 million tentative budget at Tuesday’s public hearing, but plans to work to reduce it further before adopting a final plan for the 2014 - 2015 fiscal year.The $6,604,196 tentative budget would raise taxes by about 6.25 percent, according to Mayor Mark Ainsworth.“We’ve still got two weeks to whittle it down,” he said.
