MOHAWK — Chief Chaplain Kenneth Palmer was recently honored for his 55 years of service with the Mohawk Volunteer Fire Department.“It’s something I’ve always enjoyed doing,” said Palmer.He came up through the ranks and can remember “the days of rubber boots and tin helmets.” Palmer served as fire chief in 1986-87 and since then has served as training officer, a role he continues, and as chaplain.“I’ve been a chaplain for 30 of the 55 years I’ve served,” he said.
