WHAT IS IT? A closed bar in Nimishillen Township is being renovated into a family restaurant and bar.
HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN GOING ON? Restaurateur Mark Mills bought the former Phil’s Place at 6509 Columbus Road NE. Mills said he bought the closed facility several months ago and is gutting and renovating it. He plans a March or April opening, and will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with hours from 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO KNOW? Mills, who owns five other restaurants in Canton, Louisville and Canton Township, plans to have a restaurant side and a bar side, with seating for about 100, and an outdoor patio bar. He said total investment in the project will be about $300,000.
