    Catholic Charities of Herkimer County will honor shooting survivors John Seymour and Dan Haslauer and the first responders from the events of Wednesday, March 13, during its eighth annual Window of Hope Awards Luncheon.
    The awards will be given at a luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Francesca’s Banquets & Catering, 144 E. Main St.
    Harry Montgomery, Michael Ransear, Michael Renshaw and Thomas Stefka, who lost their lives that day, will be memorialized at the luncheon.
    The recipients of the 2013 Window of Hope Award to Organizations goes to the first responding police, fire and medical organizations that played a crucial role that day.
    In conjunction with the luncheon, Catholic Charities will conduct a 50/50 raffle with an opportunity to win up to $10,000. A maximum of 1,000 tickets will be sold at $20 per ticket. The winner will take home half of the total ticket sales dollars.
    Proceeds raised by the luncheon and raffle will stay in Herkimer County and will be used to fund the programs of Catholic Charities, especially its Emergency Assistance Program.
