UTICA — The Catalyst Group of the Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce announced the addition of two new steering committee members: Cassaundra Baber of the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and Katie Reilly of New York Sash. Both were nominated to the committee at the group’s August meeting.
“The Catalyst Group is growing at an incredible pace and this was a perfect time for us to bring on two very talented women who can help us continue to creatively reach our members,” said Pam DelMedico, chair, in a news release.
Originally only having 13 members, the decision was made to bump the steering committee to 15 in order to accommodate the growth in membership and have more support for marketing and events, the release said. With its primary goal being to empower members to recognize and enhance the value of living and working in the Mohawk Valley, the group is working to put together events, programs and campaigns to unite Chamber members and young professionals with that common goal, the release said.
“It’s exciting to be involved with this great group of people who are working so hard to connect young people to the Mohawk Valley. I’ve always been proud to call Utica home, and I’m looking forward to sharing my enthusiasm and ideas,” said Reilly.
“This fast-growing group is a testament to the positive, youthful energy permeating the region and I look forward to being a part of this group that has such specific goals and actions set up to make big changes in our community,” said Baber.
