  • How to Straighten a Post

  • Don’t replace a bent post—fix it yourself

  • If you need to straighten a post, try this simple solution from Club member Ernie Zimmer of Gillett, Pennsylvania. Notch a 12-in. length of black iron pipe and secure it halfway up the post. Attach a turnbuckle to both the top and bottom of the post; then string vinyl-coated steel cable between the two turnbuckles and over the pipe. As you tighten the turnbuckles, the post will slowly be drawn straight. Brought to you by: American Profile
