  • County fair lists Youth Dairy Show results

  • The Youth Dairy Show at the Herkimer County Fair awards a Supreme Champion Rosette Award in each show.
    John Currie from Tully judged the division.
    Dairy youth type and production winners included Champion Brown Swiss 4- year-old Jonlee Rombo Fornside Dynah by Sam Donahoe from Frankfort. Champion Holstein is 4-year-old Don Dale Fortune Liquor by Allison Donahoe from Frankfort. Holstein winners also included Travis Nelson from West Winfield with Jr. 2-year-old Kel Vista Elite Edge, Stacy Collins of Ilion with 3-year-old Collins Pride Gavor Rumi and Seth Donahoe from Frankfort with Dry Cow Don Dale Roy Minnie.
    Youth Dairy Heritage Breed Award is given to the champion of the rare and heritage dairy breeds. This year the eligible contestants were Dylan Hapeman of Little Falls with Ayrshire Maelstrom Regina Red, Gavin Case of Frankfort with Guernsey Royaltys Jewel of Hillside, Anna Becker of Mohawk American Milking Lineback with B-Line Half Brindle Brandy and Madeson Spellman of Newport with Milking Shorthorn CJaiz Vlay Grace. Heritage Breed Champion was awarded to Madeson Spellman of Newport with Milking Shorthorn CJaiz Vlay Grace.
    The winner of this year’s Mary G. Ferry Memorial Overall Type and Production Award was Allison Donahoe of Frankfort with Don Dale Fortune Liquor.
    Youth Dairy Premier Exhibitor awards went to Gavin Case of Frankfort for Ayrshire, Robert Becker of Mohawk for Brown Swiss, Gavin Case of Frankfort for Guernsey, Chad Collins of Ilion for Holstein, Kory Bray of Frankfort for Jersey, Anna Becker of Mohawk for American Milking Lineback and Madison Spellman of Newport for Milking Shorthorn.
