The Minnowbrook Garden Club of Mohawk conducted its July meeting at the home of Leslie Steele in Ilion.
President Stephen Brown noted exhibitors and clerks are needed for the three flower shows during the State Fair in Syracuse. He also provided information for the tour to the Schenectady Rose Gardens in September. Members of the Ilion Garden Club will join Minnowbrook members for the trip. All District V club members are invited to exhibit at the flower show at the Boathouse in Bellamy Park in Rome. Brown had booklets available for the Herkimer County Fair for any who wanted to enter. He encouraged participation, particularly in the flower show.
The Passport Program will be used at the District V flower shows. Members can pick one up at the first show they visit and have it punched t each one they attend. A drawing will take place at the district fall meeting for a prize.
Following the meeting, members toured the gardens surrounding Leslie Steele’s home. The hostess and her mother, Teenie Steele, served refreshments.
The Aug. 21 meeting was at the home of Doris Reardon, where the program was “Design 101.”
The Weller Library arrangement for August was assigned to Sue Noddings.
