  • BOYS' SOCCER: ODY wins 10-0 in Little Falls

  • LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — Matthew Cristman had a hat trick for Owen D. Young Tuesday and the Wildcats opened the season with a 10-0 victory over the Little Falls Mounties.
    Cristman, Dustin Monk and Tyler Werperchowski each had two goals in the first half when Owen D. Young opened a 6-0 lead on the road. Monk scored twice in the first six minutes.
    Bradley Edick, Jeffrey Yaun and Dino Alicajic scored goals in the second half before Cristman tallied his third to complete the hat trick.
    Andrey Drozdov started in goal for the Wildcats and Lynn Backus took over in the second half. Backus recorded the lone save for Owen D. Young.
    Cole Douglas had eight saves for Little Falls.
    Little Falls travels to Waterville Thursday to meet the host school in the opening round of the Brothertown Optimist Tournament. Owen D. Young’s next match is Tuesday in Springfield against Mt. Markham.
