Herkimer Now will partner with the United Way of Mohawk Valley & Greater Utica Area and the village of Herkimer to conduct their inaugural “Graffiti Busters Project.” The beautification initiative will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14. Community members are welcome to join the event.
Participants are invited to meet with Herkimer Now and the United Way at 9:30 a.m. at the Basloe Library, 245 N. Main St., for instructions. The painting cover-up will kick off at 10 a.m. across the street at the old Glory Days building. Together, the volunteers will paint over graffiti currently on the side of the historic building. The project is expected to conclude around noon.
In addition, the village of Herkimer will have extra beautification tasks available for volunteers to help with in that same area of North Main Street.
Community members are welcome to participate in this Graffiti Busters Project. Supplies will be provided, along with T-shirts for the first 15 participants. For more information or to sign up to volunteer, contact Herkimer Now committee member Laura Powers at 868-0233 or email@example.com or show up at the event this Saturday.
