Virginia J. Lynch, age 57, of Hanahan, S.C., formerly of Ilion, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, in Medical University of South Carolina Hospital, she had the comfort and the support of her loving family by her side.
Ginny was born on June 9, 1956, in Ilion, a daughter of Arthur and the late Janet Wheeler Harrington. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Mohawk High School. She was engaged to Peter Tucci. Virginia was a certified nurses aide working in Folts Homes, Herkimer. She helped with and cared for the residents and made many friendships with them. She retired in 2008. In 2012, she moved to Hanahan, S.C., where she has resided since.
To all who knew her Virginia was a very caring person who enjoyed being with her family. She was always willing to help anyone while looking for nothing in return. She was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.
Surviving besides her father and her fianc Peter, are two daughters, Janetlee Barnes and her husband, Shawn, of Dolgeville, Susan Reynolds, of Hanahan, S.C.; two brothers, Randy Harrington, of Utica, and Charles Harrington, of Little Falls; three sisters, Melissa Aney and her companion, Patrick Ransom, of Little Falls, Darlene Robinson and her husband, Bill, of Utica and Lisa Volo and her husband, Patrick, of Ilion; and six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her Chihuahua, Star.
Besides her mother a son, Frederick Richard Keiser, preceded her in death.
A graveside service for Virginia will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Hans Drews officiating. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer.
