Five-time Emmy nominee Danny Glover will appear on NBC's new crime drama Ironside, the network announced Friday.
Glover, 67, will play Frank, the father of the show's main protagonist, Ironside (Blair Underwood). He will appear during a flashback sequence, which reveals some insight into the history of Ironside's family in the final days before his father enters prison.
Premiering Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 10/9c on NBC, Ironside follows Detective Robert Ironside, a fearless cop who must use a wheelchair after his spine is shattered in an accident. A remake of the 1967 series, NBC's Ironside also stars Pablo Schreiber, Brent Sexton and Spencer Grammer.
Best known for his work in the Lethal Weapon series and The Color Purple, Glover most recently starred on the first season of Touch opposite Kiefer Sutherland.
