The Minnowbrook Garden Club of Mohawk met at Grace Episcopal Church for their August meeting.
President Stephen Brown opened the meeting with a moment of silence in memory of departed member Therese Ray.
Sign-up sheets for the trip to Schenectady to tour the Rose Gardens and for the 75th anniversary luncheon of the Richfield Springs Garden Club were available.
The club made several suggestions for Grandparent’s Day on Sept. 8, which included building birdhouses together, planting flower bulbs, a nature walk or garden tours.
The Seed and Weed Garden Club Flower Show will take place on Sept. 20 and 21 at the Oneida County Cooperative Extension in Oriskany. Attendance was encouraged. Members are reminded to bring their passport card to be stamped. There will be a drawing at the fall meeting of District V for a prize. There will be a large flower show at Sonnenburg Gardens in Canandaigua on Sept. 27 and 28.
Refreshments and the designing activity followed the meeting.
The September meeting will be the trip to the Schenectady Rose Gardens.
