  • FIELD HOCKEY ROUNDUP: Magicians, Mustangs tie

  • HERKIMER, N.Y. — The Mt. Markham Mustangs and Herkimer Magicians tied 1-1 in overtime Friday.
    Ashley Rohacek scored for Mt. Markham with an assist from Bryn Hoover.
    Bri Parks had Herkimer’s goal with a Kyria Plunkett assist.
    Samantha Spanfelner made four saves for the Magicians while Amanda Otis had two for the Mustangs.
    Mt. Markham is home Tuesday for a game against Little Falls and Herkimer travels to Ilion to take on Central Valley Academy.
    LITTLE FALLS 2, WHITESBORO 1, overtime
    MARCY, N.Y. — The Little Falls Mounties defeated Whitesboro 2-1 Friday.
    Sydney McCarthy scored the deciding goal in overtime with an assist from Teddi Fallis.
    The Mounties (3-1-0) play on the road Tuesday at Mt. Markham.
    CLINTON 4, CENTRAL VALLEY ACADEMY 0
    CLINTON, N.Y. — Rylee Meelan scored all four goals Friday in the Clinton Warriors’ 4-0 victory over the Central Valley Academy Thunder.
    Hannah Mazor assisted on one of the goals for the Warriors.
    Samantha Urich had six saves for the Thunder.
    Central Valley Academy has a game at home at Barringer Road Elementary School Tuesday against Herkimer.
    SAUQUOIT VALLEY 3, NEW YORK MILLS 2
    SAUQUOIT, N.Y. — Three Indians scored goals Friday in undefeated Sauquoit Valley’s 3-2 win over the New York Mills Marauders.
    Maria Orsino had a goal and an assist, Alyssa Orsino and Samantha Critelli each scored a goal and Morgan Talma contributed an assist for the Indians who led 2-1 at halftime at home.
    Brianne Fuccillo scored both of the New York Mills goals.
    Erika Parker made four saves for Sauquoit Valley and Amanda Maciol had six for New York Mills.
    The Indians play Tuesday at Sherburne-Earlville.
