  • GIRLS' SOCCER ROUNDUP: Herkimer starts fast in win

  • DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. — The Herkimer Magicians scored four goals before halftime Tuesday on the way to a 5-0 win over the Dolgeville Blue Devils.
    Chelsea Jory started in goal for Herkimer and made one save in the first half. Megan Ball added seven saves to complete the shutout.
    Hannah DeLude and McKenzie Pine each scored two of the Magicians’ goals while Lillie Williams and Caitlyn Roorda each had two assists. Joy Williams added a goal and Maddie Renshaw and Morgan Haas each was credited with an assist.
    Morgan Randall had nine saves for Dolgeville.
    Herkimer is home Thursday for a game against West Canada Valley. Dolgeville plays at Little Falls.
    LITTLE FALLS 2, FRANKFORT-SCHUYLER 0
    FRANKFORT, N.Y. — The unbeaten Little Falls Mounties scored two goals in the second half Tuesday and defeated the Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights 2-0.
    Cheyenne Rivenburg made nine saves and Little Falls posted its fourth shutout in five matches.
    Maria Morotti scored first for the Mounties with an assist from Sarah Bruins. Nicole Foti added an unassisted goal.
    Cassandra Grippe had 10 saves for Frankfort-Schuyler.
    The Maroon Knights play on the road Thursday at Cooperstown. Little Falls is home for its match Thursday against Dolgeville.
    CENTRAL VALLEY ACADEMY 8, ADIRONDACK 0
    BOONVILLE, N.Y. — Seniors Teigha Ward and Nicole Doolen both had hat tricks for Central Valley Academy Tuesday in the Thunder’s 8-0 win over the Adirondack Wildcats.
    Ward and Doolen each had two assists to go with her three goals. Sophie Miller added a goal and an assist. Linnea Bush scored a goal and Nicole Wren and Johna Cusworth each contributed an assist. Taylor Moquin made two saves and Alicia Ceneviva had one in the combined shutout.
    Rebecca Backer recorded eight saves for the Wildcats.
    The Thunder plays at home in Mohawk Thursday against Sherburne-Earlville.
    COOPERSTOWN 5, WEST CANADA VALLEY 2
    NEWPORT, N.Y. — Liz Millea and Maggie Hall each scored a pair of goals Tuesday in the Cooperstown Hawkeyes’ 5-2 win at West Canada Valley.
    The Hawkeyes led 2-0 at halftime and got 18 saves form Katie Kleban in the win. Hall had two assists with her two goals and Millea had one. Jordian Siver scored the other Cooperstown goals.
    Kristen Sportello and Joelle Ceneviva scored goals in the second half for the Indians.
    West Canada Valley plays at Herkimer Thursday.
    REMSEN 5, OLD FORGE 0
    WEBB, N.Y. — Brittany Waterbury tallied three goals for Remsen in Tuesday’s 5-0 win against the Eskimos of Old Forge.
    All of the scoring came in the first half.
    Alycia Atwell-Chwazik added a goal and an assist for the Rams and Joleen Marfone had the other goal. Mieka Scott made two saves in the shutout while Theresa Roberts, Rachel Waterbury and Elisha Hamilton each had an assist.

    Undefeated Remsen is home for Thursday’s match against Owen D. Young.
