  • SCHOLASTIC FOOTBALL: Mills scores four TDs; Herkimer wins

  • MORRISVILLE, N.Y. — Austin Mills returned to action Friday and ran for four touchdowns in the Herkimer Magicians’ 35-14 victory over the Vipers of Morrisville-Eaton/Hamilton.
    The Magicians (2-1, 2-1 D East) bounced back from their first loss and led 35-0 at halftime. The Vipers scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
    Mills, who left last week’s loss to Dolgeville in the second quarter with an injured left shoulder, scored on runs of five and 30 yards in the first quarter and one and three in the second. Matt Borek returned a fumble for the Magicians’ other touchdown.
    E.J. Hackney ran for both Morrisville-Eaton/Hamilton touchdowns.
    The Magicians travel north Saturday for a non-league game against the Adirondack Wildcats.
