  • SCHOLASTIC FOOTBALL: West Canada Valley falls to Lowville Academy

  • LOWVILLE, N.Y. — Cameron Malik scored two touchdowns in the first quarter Friday and Lowville Academy defeated the West Canada Valley Indians 20-7.
    Malik’s 17-yard scoring run and catch of a 15-yard touchdown pass from Isaac Widrick helped Class C North’s unbeaten Lowville Academy (3-0) build a 14-7 lead in the opening period. Kyle Malik added a 28-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to complete the scoring.
    Quarterback Ryan Moody scored the lone touchdown for West Canada Valley (1-2). Ryan Grogan ran for 51 yards to lead the Indians while Moody ran for 39 and passed for 47.
    Another unbeaten team comes up on the West Canada Valley schedule in Week 4 when Waterville/Madison makes the trip to Newport. Lowville is home again Friday for its game against Watertown’s 3-0 Immaculate Heart Cavaliers.
