  • The Herkimer village board voted Friday morning to award a contract to repair the village’s northern water lines, but rejected the lone bid received for debris removal.
Jim Werczynski Excavating, of Herkimer, submitted a low bid of $47,562 to make repairs where village water pipes on the way to Gravesville were exposed by storm damage.
At the recommendation of Department of Public Works Superintendent Peter Macri, the board voted to reject the bid submitted for removal of storm debris that has been piled in Brookwood Park and to advertise for bids again in hopes of receiving additional and lower bids on the project.
