A 33-year-old man is charged with shooting his father to death after the two of them fought in an Otsego County home.
The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office tells local media outlets that Michael Buck of Cooperstown was charged Saturday with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and criminal use of a firearm.
Police were called to the home around 1:45 a.m. Saturday by someone who said there was a suspicious person outside and that there had been shots fired.
Police located Buck, who had minor injuries, and subsequently found 64-year-old Joseph Buck dead inside his home.
Buck was arraigned and remanded to Otsego County Jail without bail. He’s due back in court on Sept. 30.
