Flooding Main Street with live performances, food and fine art, Remsen has quite a bit to look forward to this weekend.
The time has come again to explore the 34th annual Remsen Barn Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
“Putting Remsen on the map, the festival is a premiere show that brings in lots of people,” said Remsen Mayor Francis Stacy. “The city hosts the celebration that brings together thousands, and if you travel, you’ll definitely find people that know of the festival.”
A tradition for many, people that move away come back. It has become a reunion for families and friends to enjoy continuous entertainment, finding out what the festival has to offer.
Vendors from all over the United States and Canada are expected to be present.
Attendees can choose from more than 200 vendors selling a variety of jewelry, pottery, photographs and more; 50 food concessions; strolling performers; as well as performances ranging from bluegrass to rock/pop in the Remsen Arts Center.
“This is the best time to visit Remsen,” said Ann Turner, vice president of the Remsen Barn Festival. “There’s something for everyone.”
