  • The Friends of Weller Library in Mohawk will sponsor the group's annual Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, in Weller Park. Featured this year will be Magician Jim Oakie.
The Norway 4-H will be on hand to provide a petting zoo and horseback rides, and will offer popcorn and cotton candy for sale. Also returning will be face painter Liz Freed with designs of the season from which to select. Children will have the opportunity to paint a pumpkin.
Hot dogs with a choice of trimmings, including homemade sauerkraut, plus a beverage will be available for $3.
There will be a bake sale, 50-50 raffle and a membership drive. The Friends are looking for members who may have new ideas, enjoy working with children and fostering community fellowship. Meetings are once a month from 6 to 7 p.m. Those who can't or prefer not to attend meetings may also participate by providing goods for the group's bake sales or helping set up for Easter and October events.
Crafters are welcome to take part in the Fall Festival. For more information, call Loraine at 866-0261 or Ellen at 866-2225.
