  • BOYS' SOCCER RUNDUP: ODY beats Remsen for eighth victory

  • SPRINGFIELD CENTER, N.Y. — Ryan Crouse netted three goals Friday in the Owen D. Young Wildcats’ 9-1 win over Remsen’s Rams.
    Cole Covney added two goals for the Wildcats (8-2-0). Jeffrey Yaun, Matthew Cristman, Marty Collins and Dustin Monk each scored a goal and Cristman and Josh Maytan had assists for Owen D. Young which led 2-0 at halftime. Andrey Drozdov made two saves.
    Reiss Brand scored a goal in the second half for Remsen (0-8-0). Andrew Foster made three saves and Steve Gothan had six.
    The Wildcats play at Cooperstown Tuesday.
    CANASTOTA 4
    FRANKFORT-SCHUYLER 2
    CANASTOTA, N.Y. — The teams combined to score six goals in the second half Friday and Canastota’s Raiders walked off the field with a 4-2 win over Frankfort-Schuyler’s Maroon Knights.
    Robert Burbank had two goals for the Raiders (2-8-1), Anthony Spara had a goal and an assist and Christopher Bigos scored a goal. James Kimball made six saves.
    Emrah Ljubijankic and Vincent Spataro scored for Frankfort-Schuyler (0-9-1), Ethan Ruszala was credited with 11 saves.
    Frankfort-Schuyler plays at home Tuesday against Adirondack.
    OLD FORGE 1
    HERKIMER 0
    EAST HERKIMER, N.Y. — Hunter Lawrence’s goal in the middle of the second half gave the Old Forge Eskimos a 1-0 win Friday over Herkimer’s Magicians.
    Lawrence scored an unassisted goal 62 minutes into the match and broke a scoreless tie.
    John Gaffney made one save in the shutout for Old Forge (5-4-0).
    Austin Perry made 10 saves for Herkimer (4-7-1).
    The Magicians play at West Canada Valley Thursday.
    POLAND 5
    WESTMORELAND 0
    POLAND, N.Y. — Mark Hennings and Ross Agen each had a goal and an assist for Poland Friday in the Tornadoes’ 5-0 win over the Westmoreland Bulldogs.
    Nick Kattato, Mike Sypolt and Dustin DuBrule each scored a goal for undefeated Poland (12-0-0). Mitch Jones made four saves in the shutout.
    Zach Dunning had 26 saves for Westmoreland (5-7-0).
    The Tornadoes play Thursday in Little Falls.
