  • The Central Valley Central School District will conduct an emergency dismissal drill on Friday, Oct. 18.
All students — whether bus or car riders or walkers — will be excused on the following schedule as part of the district’s annual Emergency Go Home Drill:
    • 2:30 p.m.: Central Valley Academy.
    • 2:35 p.m.: Jarvis Middle School.
    • 2:55 p.m.: Barringer Road and Fisher elementary schools.
Students who attend Herkimer-Fulton-Madison BOCES, private schools and special programs also will be dismissed 20 minutes early.
There will be no after school academic services or late bus transportation. Athletes will be released to practices or games once the drill is completed.
The Jarvis Middle School seventh and eighth grade game night and Fisher Elementary Harvest Festival will take place as scheduled.
Two reminders will be sent out using the district’s notification system, first on Friday, Oct. 11, and the second on Thursday, Oct. 17. Parents who do not receive a notification should contact their children’s school to confirm contact information.
