POLAND, N.Y. — The Poland Tornadoes will host their annual Columbus Day boys’ and girls’ tournaments Saturday and Sunday as part of he Kuyahoora Valley Fall Festival.
In the girls’ tournament, Poland, ranked first in the state in Class D, meets Hamilton at 6 p.m. in the last of four matches Saturday; the match will be played with temporary lighting with Fall Festival fireworks to follow. Clinton, unbeaten and ranked 15th in Class B, meets DeRuyter at 2 p.m. in the other first-round match. The consolation is match is Sunday at 10 a.n. and the championship match starts at 2 p.m.
The Poland boys are ranked second in Class D and meet DeRuyter in the first round Saturday at 4 p.m. Remsen and Holland Patent meet in Saturday’s noon match. The boys’ consolation match is set for Sunday at noon and the championship wraps up the tournament at 4 p.m.
Admission is $1 per day for adults entering the field through the bridge entrance from the school. Daily admission is $3 per car at the own of Russia parking entrance with two-day passes available for $5.
