SAUQUOIT, N.Y. — The Sauquoit Valley Indians defeated Little Falls for the third time this season Tuesday and advanced to the semifinals of Section III’s Class C team tournament.
The 4-1 win sets second-seeded Sauquoit Valley up against No. 3 Clinton in the semifinals. Clinton defeated Westmoreland 3-2 Tuesday and top seed Skaneateles advanced with its 5-0 win over Immaculate Heart of Watertown. The other quarterfinal pits Manlius-Pebble Hill against Lowville Academy.
Sauquoit Valley (16-1) got wins from each of its singles players and earned a split in doubles competition against Little Falls. Ella Brutsky lost two games at first singles and Tanya Brutsky lost three at third. Dana Bever, playing second, had the closest singles match, a 7-5, 7-5 win against Mountie Sienna Caracane.
Isabella Arrigo and Kira Baran added the final point for the Indians with their win at second doubles.
Trisha Shaffer and Lindsey Tolman endured a loss in their first set and a tie-breaker in the second on the way to claiming the lone win for Little Falls (10-8) at first doubles. They beat Maiah DeGironimo and Rena Topor 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.
Seeding for Section III’s individual singles and doubles tournaments will be announced Thursday.

1, Trisha Shaffer and Lindsey Tolman (Little Falls) defeated Maiah DeGironimo and Rena Topor (Sauquoit Valley), 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.
2, Isabella Arrigo and Kira Baran (Sauquoit Valley) defeated Alyssa Hyney and Emilee Burleigh (Little Falls), 6-3, 6-1.
