  • BOYS' SOCCER ROUNDUP: Copenhagen wins with goal in closing seconds

  • WEST WINFIELD, N.Y. Antonio Figueroa scored a goal on a header off a direct kick with seven seconds left in regulation play Saturday and undefeated Copenhagen beat the Mt. Markham Mustangs 1-0.
    Figueroa scored off the kick taken by teammate Breven Jacobs. Brandon Buckley did not record a save for Copenhagen (14-0-0).
    Mike Gras had nine saves for Mt. Markham (4-10-0).
    LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. The Cooperstown Hawkeyes broke away from a scoreless halftime tie Saturday and defeated Little Falls 5-0.
    Jordan Manikas opened the scoring 1:40 into the second half and Park Summers scored two minutes later. Manikas and Summers both scored again within the next nine minutes and Kyle Tallman added a goal late in the match.
    Kevin Frevele made one save in the shutout for Cooperstown (8-6-0) while Cole Douglas stopped 22 shots for Little Falls (0-12-1).
