  • BOYS' SOCCER ROUNDUP: Poland completes perfect regular season

  • POLAND, N.Y. — Mitch Jones made six saves Tuesday and the Poland Tornadoes shut Old Forge’s Eskimos out 4-0 to complete a perfect regular season.
    Branden Garrett and Andrew Taverne each had a goal and an assist for Poland (16-0-0, 10-0-0 CSC-II), the state’s top-ranked Class D team. Ross Agen and Mark Hennings each scored a goal and Sean Loveless contributed an assist.
    John Gaffney made seven saves for the Eskimos (8-5-1, 6-4-0 CSC-II).

    WATERVILLE, N.Y. — Ryan Crouse scored two goals for Owen D. Young Tuesday in the Wildcats’ 3-2 win over the Waterville Indians.
    Dustin Monk also had a goal for the Wildcats (11-2-0). Bradlee Edick had two assists and Andrey Drozdov made three saves.
    Alex Nasypany and Austin Furner each scored a goal in the second half for Waterville which trailed 1-0 at halftime. Keith Prindle recorded eight saves.

    LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — Herkimer goalkeeper Austin Perry made five saves Tuesday and scored a goal while playing the field in the Magicians’ 6-1 win over the Little Falls Mounties.
    The Magicians (5-8-1, 2-7-0 CSC-II) led 3-0 at halftime before Perry scored his goal 11 1/2 minutes into the second half. Zoltan Csoknyay had two goals in the first half and Andrew Stilwell had a goal assisted by Dan Netti. Ronnie Decker and James Huyck scored in the second half.
    Kellan Roorda scored for the Mounties (0-14-1, 0-9-0 CSC-II) with an assist from Cooper Malanoski. Cole Douglas made 13 saves.

    FRANKFORT-SCHUYLER 0
    FRANKFORT, N.Y. — Gavin Gleasman scored six goals Tuesday in the Clinton Warriors 10-0 win over Frankfort-Schuyler’s Maroon Knights.
    Gleasman's six goals set a school record for Clinton.
    Jack Hughes had three assists and Nick Williams had two for the Warriors who are ranked 16th in the state in Class B. Joshua Houle and Ben Owens each had a goal and an assist, and Nishant Sharma scored one goal.
    Jared Vu made 10 saves for Frankfort-Schuyler.

    COOPERSTOWN 0
    COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — The Mt. Markham Mustangs played the Cooperstown Hawkeyes to a scoreless draw in overtime Tuesday.
    Mike Gras made seven saves for Mt. Markham (4-10-1).
    Kevin Frevele had five saves for Cooperstown (8-6-1).
