  • GIRLS' SOCCER: Herkimer beats Little Falls, wins CSC-II title

  • EAST HERKIMER, N.Y.†ó Hannah DeLude and Megan Ball scored goals 26 seconds apart in the second half and the Herkimer Magicians defeated Little Falls 2-1 to claim the Center State Conferenceís Division II title.
    The Magicians (10-4-1, 9-1-0 CSC-II) fell behind 1-0 after a scoreless first half but DeLude tied the score with a goal off a Caitlyn Roorda corner kick in the 62nd minute. Ball broke the tie a short time later when she poked in a goal as the ball crossed in front.
    Chelsea Jory made seven saves for the Magicians whose only loss in league play was 1-0 in Little Falls Sept. 24.
    Laura Krowicki scored for Little Falls (13-2-0, 7-2-0 CSC-II) with a shot from 30 yards out 14 minutes into the second half. Cheyenne Rivenburg made eight saves for the Mounties who are tied for 20th in the New York State Sportswriters Associationís Class C state rankings.
