  • The Kids’ Rodeo at the Herkimer County Fair was a free event for children between 5 and 12 years of age.
    Trophies and ribbons were awarded in each division.
    Aug. 17 winner
    Ages 3 to 4: First place, Aalicah Johnson, 4, from Richfield Springs; second place, Noah Horton, 3, from Bridgewater; and third place, Wyatt Kimball, 4, from Sauquoit.
    Ages 5 to 6: First place, Madison Gamble, 5, from Westmoreland; second place, James Simon, 6, from Leonardsville; and third place, Lex Mikuszewski, 6, from Morrisville.
    Ages 7 to 8: First place, Gavin Hobart, 8, from East Herkimer; second place, Kevin Kretser, 7, from Little Falls; and third place, Natalie Collins, 7, from Waterville.
    Ages 9 to 10: First place, Ellie Collins, 9, from Waterville; and second place, Angelito Lester, 10, from Utica. There were only two entries in the division
    Ages 11 to 12: First place, James Luck, 13, of Morehouse; and second place, Abigail Stapf of Little Falls. There were only two entries in the division.
    Aug. 18 winners
    Ages 3 to 4: First place, Hunter Cool, 3, of Ilion; second place, Annette Labarbera, 3, of Deerfield; and third place, Gabriella Gonzalez, 4, from Utica.
    Ages 5 to 6: First place, Elorah Luck, 7, Mohawk; second place, Maddy Raid, 5, Frankfort; and third place, Julia Frasier, 6, of Little Falls.
    Ages 7 to 8 years: First place, Molly Reid, 7, town of Schuyler; second place, Victoria Staph, 7, of Little Falls; and third place, Madison Russell, 7, of Ilion.
    Ages 9 to 10: First place, Ellie Collins, 9, Waterville; second place, Alexis Rando, 10, of Ilion; and third place, Connor Evans, 9, from Rome.
    Ages 11 to 12: First place, Abigail Staph, 12, of Little Falls; and second place, Savannah Moore, 9, of Ilion. There were only two entries in the division.
    Wayne Johnson, superintendent of the youth events, and Pauline Bunce, assistant, were in charge of the event.
