Tracey Wood, Hannaford manager of customer service, and Mike Rondenelli, Herkimer Hannaford store manager, representing Team Hannaford, agreed to be “arrested” for having a “big heart” in the MDA Lock-Up campaign on Oct. 3, which raises funds for people with neuromuscular diseases.
Both spent their time making phone calls to post their bail and contribute the proceeds to the MDA.
By the time they were done they raised $1,075 for the local MDA drive which took place at Delmonico’s Italian Steakhouse, Utica.
There were more than 100 “jailbirds” who attended the event.
Several local families that MDA serves also attended as volunteers.
The event, hosted by Delmonico’s, raised more than $62,000, including Lock-Up campaign pledges.
