  • GIRLS' SOCCER: Wolves win 6-0 in playoff opener

  • ST. JOHNSVILLE, N.Y. — The Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves played up to their No. 1 seed Saturday and rolled into Section II’s Class D semifinals with a 6-0 shutout of Salem.
    Salem entered the postseason with 1-10-0 record and was outshot 28-5 on the road.
    Jessi Hagadorn scored three goals for Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville (13-3-1), Tabea Salzmann scored two and Aryn Feagles had one. Addie Brundage contributed two assists and Megan Brady had one while all-state goalkeeper Leann Clark made four saves to earn the shutout.
    Brianna Morris made 17 saves for Salem.
    The Wolves carry an eight-match winning streak into Thursday’s semifinal against Bolton at Schuylerville High School. Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville and Bolton will play at 4:30 p.m. with the second Class D semifinal between New Lebanon and Fort Ann to follow.
    BOLTON 5
    BOLTON LANDING — The Bolton Eagles trailed 2-1 at halftime Saturday but scored four times in the second half to beat Northville’s Falcons 5-2 in Section II’s Class D quarterfinals.
    Olivia Seamans opened the scoring in the first half for Bolton (9-6-1) and had three of the four goals in the second half. Abigail Seamans scored the other goal on a penalty kick.
    Mary Ryan and Lyndsey Wadsworth scored for Northville.
