  • Valley Health Services has received a $100,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties for the construction of a new assisted living facility in Herkimer County.
“The support of the Community Foundation is greatly appreciated and allows us to bring the first enriched housing and assisted living program to Herkimer County. The foundation’s recognition of the need for this type of living environment for our community’s older adults is a testament to their commitment of improving the quality of life in the region,” saud Lisa M. Betrus, chief executive officer and administrator of Valley Health Services, in a news release.
Construction for the new housing complex will begin this fall with completion scheduled in the summer 2014.
