Are you loving Caleb's new friends in Ravenswood? Well, don't get too comfortable with them - or anyone, for that matter, on the Pretty Little Liars spin-off. No one is safe in the spooky town and it looks as though the Ravenswood curse is taking another victim Tuesday (8/7c, ABC Family).
The pilot ended with Caleb, Miranda (Nicole Gale Anderson), Remy (Britne Oldford) and the twins (Merritt Patterson, Brett Dier) crashing their car into the river and it looks like one of the fab five won't make it out alive. Though, thanks to Ravenswood's spiritual inklings, they'll still be sticking around.
"It is a little bit sad, but it turns out to be the way it should be," Tyler Blackburntells TVGuide.com.
Unfortunately, all signs point to Caleb's new best buddy, Miranda, who will struggle with major changes to her reality this week (like becoming a ghost perhaps?). If Miranda does bite the dust, this is at least good news for Haleb fans. The hacker was quickly growing close to Miranda, which could have proven threatening to his relationship with Hanna (Ashley Benson). Even with Miranda out of the way, things won't be easy for the couple. "Their relationship is pretty strong for at least for the first five episodes and then it becomes a long-distance relationship and things do get a little bit rocky, but they are together," Blackburn says. "Let's just say it gets a little bit complicated."
For now, the couple will do everything they can to make it work, with Hanna making her first Ravenswood appearance in Episode 5 via a phone call before visiting her boo later on in the season. But even after everything Caleb and Hanna have been through together, Blackburn isn't 100% sold on the couple long-term. "I have mixed emotions about it because I've had such a great time working with Ashley and I love their relationship. But you know, I'm elsewhere now so it's kind of like it can only go so far," Blackburn says, adding, "I don't really want them to be endgame and it hasn't really been endgame just yet, so we'll see where it goes."

Dead or alive, Miranda's connection with Caleb won't disappear. The pair's doppelganger ancestors were in love before they died, so it's possible Miranda and Caleb are meant to be - whether she's corporeal or not. When questioned about this theory, Blackburn says it's definitely a possibility that's been "toyed around with a little bit" but he's not sure where it will go.
Viewers will get to learn more about Caleb and Miranda's family mysteries through flashbacks to their ancestors in 1917, as well as through the introduction of a few of Caleb's family members in present day. Caleb will also be growing closer with Miranda's uncle, Raymond Collins (Steven Cabral), and Alison DiLaurentis' savior,Mrs. Grunwald (Meg Foster), who will kindly still board him even after Miranda's presumed passing. And while Raymond didn't offer Caleb the warmest welcome before, Blackburn says they will start to find some common ground. "Their relationship is always a little rocky, but they do become a little bit closer," Blackburn says. "They definitely start to become a little bit more dependent on each other."
But even if Caleb is living with Raymond, Blackburn warns that doesn't mean he should necessarily be trusted. "I think that there's a lot going on behind the scenes that obviously we uncover as time goes on, but I think everybody should be looked at with a little bit of suspicious," he says.
Thankfully, we won't have to wait too long to unravel the mysteries, unlike on Ravenswood's sister series Pretty Little Liars. "This curse has been on this town for 100 years so you can't take that long to uncover all of that, so it does go a little bit quicker. Every episode is action packed," Blackburn says. "There are scares around every corner."
As someone who's had his own experiences with ghosts, Blackburn was excited to do a series that deals with the supernatural and it seems the series isn't holding back. With the town re-built over the bodies of countless flood victims, there will be more than enough spirits to go around. In addition to whatever - or should we say whomever - drove their car off the bridge and Miranda, Blackburn says we'll be seeing an array of spirits popping up this season - one of whom might be the real catalyst behind the death of Luke and Olivia's father. Ravenswood airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC Family. What do you think of Miranda becoming a ghost?
