The Herkimer ARC will host Autism Movement Therapy classes for children, teens and adults with disabilities at the agency’s exercise and dance studio at the Gail W. Brown Center, 411 Folts St.
The schedule is as follows:
• For children, ages 4 through 12, classes will be offered on Saturdays, beginning Nov. 2, through Dec. 7. Classes will be led by Kaylan Comes, who is a certified Autism Movement Therapy instructor. Classes for children ages 4 through 8 will be from 10 to 11 a.m.; and children ages 9 through 12, will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Tuesdays for teens and adults, ages 13 and older, classes will be offered on Tuesdays, beginning Nov. 5, through Dec. 10. Classes will take place from 5 to 6 p.m. and led by Mona Fermin, who is a certified Autism Movement Therapy instructor.
AMT classes are fun and involve music and dance. Classes are not only offered to individuals with autism, but also for people with developmental and learning disabilities.
The cost per six-class session is $60 with a maximum of 10 people per class.
