  • SCHOLASTIC FOOTBALL: CVA defeats Class AA Albany

  • ILION, N.Y. — Mykel Farley topped 300 rushing yards in his second consecutive game Friday and the Central Valley Academy Thunder topped Albany, a Class AA school from Section II, 44-32 in crossover play.
    Farley, who had 310 yards and four touchdowns in a win at South Jefferson Oct. 18, ran for 325 yards and scored four more times at home Friday. He had two touchdowns and ran in a conversion in a fourth quarter that started with the Thunder (4-4) trailing 32-30.
    Tyler Brown added 84 yards and a touchdown on the ground for Central Valley Academy and fullback Travis Mead also scored a touchdown.
    Albany quarterback Christopher Wolcott ran for three touchdowns and passed for two others.
    The Thunder will play its final game of the season Wednesday at home against Holland Patent.
