An equipment malfunction at the Schuyler substation Thursday morning left about 8,400 customers without power in the Schuyler, Frankfort and East Utica area, according to Virginia Limmiatis, media relations representative with National Grid.
She said the outage occurred at about 9:30 a.m.
Crews were able to repair the equipment and power was restored to all customers by 10 a.m.
Frankfort-Schuyler Central School was not impacted, according to Superintendent Robert Reina.
Limmiatis said all National Grid customers are advised to be vigilant in light of the high winds that are forecast for the area into Friday. If anyone spots any downed wires, they are asked to contact National Grid immediately.
