  • Incumbents Darlene Balio-Abbatecola, a Republican, and Michael Testa, a Democrat, will face a challenge from Democrat Mark Valent for two seats on the Frankfort Town Council in the Nov. 5 general election.
    Darlene A. Balio-Abbatecola
Balio-Abbatecola is a graduate of Herkimer County Community College and earned a New York State notary designation in 1995 and became a state certified assessor in 2003.
She is active with Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, the St. Francis Ladies Auxiliary, the S.S. Maria Addolorata Society, the Ambassador Club and the House of the Good Shepherd.
She also served as secretary of the New York State Assessor’s Association from 2009 to 2011 and is a Republican committeeperson.
Balio-Abbatecola and her husband, Thomas Abbatecola, have three children.
Statement: I am running for re-election for the Frankfort Town Council. Having a long standing in our community and with the changes we have coming up to our town, I would be honored to continue as your councilwoman.
We are nearing the completion of the new Town Hall at 201 Third Ave. and as many of you know we are ecstatic. This has been a long time coming.
Focusing on results to eliminate the waste of money, time and effort needs to be first and foremost on the minds of those charged with such responsibilities. I am willing to share resources and develop an economic mission with other municipalities and we have done this already. Examples include highway equipment. It’s time to stand united and work together for the greater good for the town of Frankfort.
I look forward to continue to working with my fellow council people in making long-standing and conscientious decisions for our community.
Testa and Valent did not respond to a request for information.
