An informational meeting regarding potential construction of a power line by LS Power Development is set for Wednesday, Nov. 6.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in DSS Conference Room No. 242 on the second floor of the Herkimer County Office and Courts Facility in Herkimer.
Developers had until Oct. 1 to submit proposals to the state Public Service Commission for solutions to relieving congestion at the Marcy substation, which is part of state Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Energy Highway Initiative.
The company — which is affiliated with North American Transmission Corp. — published a notice in the Observer-Dispatch in September describing their projected route.
Maps provided by LS Power indicate the proposed path would run east to Schuyler before heading south downstate. It would go through the towns of Marcy, Deerfield, Schuyler, Frankfort, Litchfield and Columbia and into Otsego County.
NextEra Energy officials met with Herkimer County representatives in September to discuss their proposal.
