  • CROSS COUNTRY: Former Magician heading to states

  • BATAVIA, N.Y.†ó Senior Ben McCarthy will run in the NYSPHSAA championship meet Saturday in Queensbury after placing third this past weekend in Section Vís Class C race.
    McCarthy ran on Herkimerís track and field team in the spring but moved back to Bath over the summer. Running for Haverling High School, McCarthy recorded a five-kilometer time of 17:28.8 at Genesee Community College Saturday and finished 27 seconds off the winning pace set by Joseph Northup of Waterloo.
