  • Fort Plain man arrested for felony DWI

  • FULTONVILLE — A Fort Plain man was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated as a result of a Nov. 15 motor vehicle accident in the town of Mohawk, according to Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies.
    Donald R. Schwartz, 58, of 6778 state Route 5S, was also arrested for leaving the scene of a property damage motor vehicle accident, moving from a lane unsafely and refusal of a breath test, deputies said.
    Schwartz, after rolling his vehicle over, attempted to flee the scene of the accident on foot, but was located a short distance away, deputies said.
    He was arraigned in Mohawk Town Court and was remanded to the Montgomery County jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond, deputies said. He was scheduled to reappear in town court on Nov. 19.
