HERKIMER — Ralph Smith, Jr., 63, of Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Little Falls Hospital.
He was born April 24, 1950, in Little Falls, the son of the late Ralph and Susan (Null) Smith, and was educated in Fort Plain Schools.
Ralph was last employed at Valley Health Services in Herkimer in the Maintenance Department.
An avid outdoorsman, Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing, and mostly loved working on monster trucks for mud racing.
Survivors include his son, Ralph D. Smith and his wife, Jackie, of Ilion; his daughter, Amy Davis and her husband, Andrew, of Manlius, NY; his sister, Joanne Hogan and husband, Gary, of St. Johnsville; his brothers, James Smith, of St. Johnsville, Wayne Smith, of Palatine, NY, Tim Smith and wife, Deborah, of St. Johnsville, and Jeff Smith, of Little Falls; seven grandchildren, Luke Culver, Paige Culver, Brandon Davis, Keisha Smith, Brooke Smith, Alyssa Ovitt and Hunter Smith; two great-grandchildren, Aleyla Dygert and Dalton Lopez; and many nieces, nephews and cousins; and several aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Smith, and a brother, Michael Smith.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. from the Vincent A. Enea Funeral Service, 20 Bridge St., St. Johnsville, NY, 518-568-7040, with Reverend David Johnson, Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Ephratah Rural Cemetery.
