UTICA — Local residents should be prepared for cold weather this weekend.
An arctic cold front is expected to sweep through the Mohawk Valley late Saturday afternoon, bringing with it snow showers and isolated snow squalls, the National Weather Service said.
Snow squalls may produce poor visibility and slippery roads, and drivers should be prepared for hazardous driving conditions.
The area may also experience high winds on Sunday, with sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph and gusts of up to 57 mph. The National Weather service will issue a wind advisory if high winds become likely.
