ALBANY — The New York Newspapers Foundation is soliciting applications for funding for projects that foster the development of literacy, with particular emphasis on programs which involve networks of community organizations, and which can be replicated in other communities.
Applications for the next found funding are due by Thursday, Dec. 5.
Foundation grants are issued on a one-time basis and organizations are expected to seek ongoing support from alternate sources
Recent grants have supported community-wide reading projects, parent-child reading programs, and library projects designed to help recent immigrants to develop reading skills.
