What do you enjoy most about your sport?
I love the speed and adrenaline that comes with ski racing. For the one minute that you are on the course it's like everything around you disappears as you race down the hill. The feeling you get at the bottom of a course can't be found in any other sport.
What is your most memorable athletic moment?
Winning the slalom of USSA Eastern Finals in Okemo, Vermont.
Tell us about someone who inspires you in sports and why
Lindsey Vonn is my inspiration when it comes to ski racing. She is a perfect example of someone who can overcome anything to reach her goals. Even with a severe knee injury last year she is still pushing to defend her Olympic gold. I have never met anyone more dedicated to the sport of ski racing.
What are your greatest challenges balancing academics and sports?
Ski racing causes me to miss several days of school throughout the season, and making up all the work I missed can sometimes be a challenge. To balance my sport with school I have had to do homework everywhere from in a car to in a ski gondola between runs.
What are your plans after graduating from high school?
Next year I will be attending Clarkson University to study chemical and biomedical engineering
