  • BILLINGS, Mont. ó The Herkimer Diamond KOA Campground has been awarded the 2014 KOA Presidentís and Founderís Award by Kampgrounds of America.
The awards were presented on Nov. 21 at KOAís Annual International Convention in Austin, Texas.
The KOA Founderís and Presidentís Awards are presented annually to campgrounds that receive the highest scores in customer service from their campers, and also receive top scores in KOAís annual quality review.
The KOA Founderís Award is named in honor of Dave Drum, who founded KOA on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Billings, Mont., in 1962. It is given to those KOA campgrounds that attained the top scores in customer service and the KOA quality review. KOA surveys hundreds of thousands of campers each year regarding their KOA camping experience.
ďEverything we do at KOA is centered on providing the best possible camping experience to our millions of guests each year,Ē said KOA President Pat Hittmeier in a news release. ďWe have wonderful owners, managers and staff working on their parks every day to provide that great experience, and listening closely to the desires of their campers. Iím so proud to be able to recognize that effort with our KOA Presidentís and Founderís Awards.Ē
