  • Frankfort man charges with reckless endangerment

  • FRANKFORT Town police arrested a Frankfort man at 4:09 p.m. Saturday after allegedly firing his rifle out of a vehicle window.
    Harold R. Wehrle, Jr., 47, was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment after police responded to a shots fired call from Herkimer County 911 on State Route 171 in the Frankfort Gorge. Police arrested Wehrle after locating the suspecting vehicle. Police also recovered a rifle from the vehicle.
    Wehrle was ticketed to appear in town court. Police said additional charges are pending.
    State Department Environmental Conservation Police assisted in the incident.
