  • GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Herkimer wins 3-0 at Central Valley Academy

  • ILION, N.Y. The Herkimer Magicians swept their way to a 25-14, 25-9, 25-15 win on the road Friday over the Central Valley Academy Thunder.
    Natalie Schrader served five aces and put down four kills for Herkimer; Jami Peters had 12 assists and five digs; Caitlyn Roorda had five kills, a block and five digs; and Morgan Hawes had three digs.
    Amanda Dahl had eight blocks and a kill for Central Valley Academy (1-1); Lynnsey Buckley had six digs, two kills, a block, one ace and one assist; Megan Connor had 10 digs, three kills and two aces; Alicia Ceneviva had seven assists, one kill and one dig; and Kacey Visser had two kills, two blocks, one ace and three digs.
    FRANKFORT, N.Y. The Holland Patent Golden Knights swept three games from Frankfort-Schuyler Friday, defeating the Maroonn Knights 25-21, 25-14, 27-25.
    Jessica Pinto had 13 kills, four aces and seven digs for Holland Patent (1-0); Faith Babowicz had nine kills and three digs; Adrienne Lyon had 16 assists, one ace and three digs; and Chase Brys had six kills and four aces.
    Brittney Janis served four aces, one kill, one block and four digs for Frankfort-Schuyler (0-2); Brianna Manzo had 12 digs, one ace, one kill, one block and one 1 assist; Alyssa Unsinn had nine digs, three kills and one assist; and Jamie Juliano had five assists, one ace and six digs.
    Holland Patent was a 2-1 winner in the junior varsity match.
